Westies are incredible, loving dogs. They will enjoy simple time with you, even just sitting with you as you watch tv. We have a Westie who can see certain things on the tv, like the roaches in an Orkin commercial. She will jump and chase the bugs on the screen. Totally true; totally fun. If your Westies seems heavy in your lap, take it out for frequent walks. It will give both of you quality bonding time.

You can place one of your old t-shirts in their cage. You can also let them sit in your lap when youre watching tv, doing homework etc. You can get an inexpensive pouch to carry them around in while you do chores around the house. Just get it used to your scent! Play with it as much as you can!

Flat screen televisions usually sit on top of TV stands. Corner stands do not really sit on top of any televisions.
Actally, they do! My cat enjoys watching movies with lots of light and figures moving around the screen. He perches up atop the couch, behind where we sit and watches TV with us. We also find it rather funny when he runs to the screen and tries to hit the moving characters on it. Usually, the older the cat the more they like to sit in your lap and watch TV with you, but it all depends on the cat!
