A fuse wire, or fusable link, is just another form of a fuse and operates much in the same fashion. Too much current draw and poof, it blows. You could replace a fuse wire with a fuse and fuse block but fusable link is much cheaper to manufacture and is good for quick assembly and or limited space.
Should be the same circuit as parking/tailights Check all sockets for short to ground or overload Remove all bulbs and replace one at a time until fuse blows that will give an sidea where to further investigate
I had the same problem it was a shorted wire under the driverside causing the fuse to blow when you turn the ignition my downstream oxygen sensor wires shorted out (melted and fused together). check for anything shorted out connecting that fuse.
Pull the bad fuse out and replace it with the exact same size new fuse.
eassy pull the fuse box cover off turn it over located the tail light fuse pull it out replace with same amp fuse
The dash light fuse gets its power from the tail light fuse. If the tail light fuse blows, you won't have any dash lights either.
Try removing bulbs from all exterior lights turn switch on to see if fuse blows--if not replace one bulb at a time to determine where problem is. If fuse blows without bulbs could very well be switch "dead shorted" to ground IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM SO IF YOU FIGURE IT OUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW AT GODLIVERKILLA@YAHOO.COM A mechanic told me that the switch that is on the column is usually the problem. Cost about 70.00 . Raygracik@msn.com
Locate the fuse box which is under the dash. There is a panel on the end of the dash that can be removed allowing access to the fuses. The fuse you are looking for will either be fuse # 8 Radio/Accessory fuse or fuse # 18. More than likely it is # 18 which is a 15 amp fuse for the front accessory power socket. Pull that fuse and if it is blown replace with the exact same size fuse. If it blows immediately then the socket is defective and will need to be replaced.
Open the dashboard fuse panel and look for the fuse marked cig ...replace it
Yes, a 250V fuse can replace a 125V fuse if they have the same ampacity rating. The voltage rating is simply the maximum voltage that the fuse is capable of safely interrupting. You can go higher, but you can not go lower. Obviously, the form factor of the fuse must be the same, but that is often the case.
same as the 1996 Plymouth grand voyager....behind the center console....it has been suggested that to replace the fuse it is best left to the "experts" at Chrysler.
Buy the same rated fuse pull out the broken fuse and replace with new fuse job done. The fuse box is under the drivers side of the dash. (Don't forget the fuses under the hood!!)
