How is produce ac power?

AC power for houses comes from generators. The most common type of generator has a boiler running on coal or oil that heats water converting it into steam that goes to a turbine that provides energy via a rotating shaft to the generator. Wires carry the electrical energy to the customers.

What energy conversions occur in a generator?

The generator transforms mechanical energy to electrical energy by rotating a wired coil within a magnetic field. The mechanical energy is from steam in nuclear and combustion reactors (oil, gas coal). In hydro and wind power, it is from rotating turbines.

A flow of electrical charges is known as an?

A flow of electrical charges running through a medium is known as an electrical current.

How is hydroelectric energy gathered and or created?

Hydro-power usually starts with a dam. A controlled amount of water is led away from the dam , and on to a water wheel, also called a turbine. The force of the running water gets the turbine spinning. The turbine is hooked up to an electrical generator which produces electricity as it turns. the electricity is then fed into the electrical grid and makes its ways out to homes and industries.

What are examples of mechanical energy being transformed into electrical or heat energy?

Any device or process that needs batteries or that needs to be "plugged in" to move is an example of electrical energy being converted into mechanical energy. Some examples: - Starting a car - Running a washer/dryer - A moving fan - Playing a record or CD

How is electrical energy generated from running water?

Usually the water will turn some wheels or turbine; this will then turn a generator, which generates the electricity.

How can electrical energy be generated by running water?

Water wheels or turbines turning generators.

How many hours can a Coleman generator be used on a full tank of gas?

Actually this question can not be answered since the actual time mainly depends on the load attached to the generator. If running idle (i.e. no electrical load connected) it will run significantly longer than with full load connected.

What energy is generated from running water?

Energy is actually not created. Hydel power plant converts the stored water's potential into Kinetic energy energy in the runneer & at last to electrical energy through Generator

How do you make a light bulb light up if the power comes from a generator?

You put the light bulb into a light fixture or lamp and plug the lamp into the running generator's electrical outlet. Make sure the generator's circuitbreaker is reset.

How could you make energy yourself?

Every day your body uses energy keeping itself alive and moving, running, solving problems etc. This energy comes from the food you eat. You could produce electrical ebnergy youself by using a treadmill attached to a generator, or by using your bodily energy to build a dam that could run a generator by the fall of water.

What does Incoming and running generators are in same phase while paralleling two generators mean?

When two generators are to be run in parallel, one generator is first started and some load is given. Then second generator is brought in parallel with the running generator (subject few conditions, like voltage, frequency, phase angle). First generator which is running is known as running generator, the second generator which gets connected is known as incoming generator

Would a defective governor cause a generator motor not run?

Yes, if the governor failed in a way that "makes it think" the generator is always running too fast it might prevent the generator from running at all.
