I have the exact same problem, but unfortunately I don't think there is a way to straighten the hair forever. You could try perming it or using a straightening iron, but these certainly don't last forever, only a short period of time. To be honest, I suggest you try and accept your hair the way it is, and try different hairstyles that make your curl look good- naturally.
go to a salon and get treatments, bu they are expensive and it takes forever to get curly hair back unless you use a curling iron to make it curly or curlers
get a perm.
I can answer the first part...What makes your straight hair curly is severl things one sleping on it or with your hair in a bun or ponytail. Second water can make you hair curly again or steam.. :)
