Is a hypothesis the same as a theory?
No a hypothesis is not the same thing as a theory, but they are very similar. A hypothesis is an educated guess as to how an experiment will turn out, and a theory is an explanation for why something happens the way it does( for a theory to become a theory the same results must be produced multiple times.)

Need a hypothesis for how does your power in climbing a flight of stairs compare with the power of a 100 W light bulb?
A hypothesis could be that your power is the same. Or it could be that your power is a million times greater or only one millionth. You decide! A hypothesis could be that your power is the same. How do hypotheses become theories?
In everyday use, the term theory is often used as a synonym for hypothesis. In science, a Theory a broad explanation of a variety of phenomenon. A hypothesis is usually a possible specific phenomenon, so a hypothesis does not usually become a Theory. A theory is usually proposed for a known set of laws or phenomenon. Predictions are made based on this theory, and then experiments are designed to test those predictions (hypothesis). To be accepted as true, a proposed theory must be tested multiple times by many researchers. Eventually the weight of this evidence is enough to convince most scientists of the truth (or at least the usefulness) of the Theory.

How many times has the big bang theory been provenscience?
Depends on how you count times that a "proof" has been made. That our Universe came into existence about 13.7 billion years ago, and has been expanding at a farily steady rate ever since, is supported by every scientific test that has been devised to negate this hypothesis. Depending on how you count a "proof," that is quite a few of them.

Why should you change your hypothesis?
You should change your hypothesis if the results from your experiments do not match what your hypothesis predicted. For instance, you make a hypothesis that a feather will fall at the same speed of a bowling ball. You drop both at the same time a number of times. You see that every time the bowling ball falls at a faster speed than the feather. You would have to change your hypothesis since it doesn't match your results. Your new hypothesis would be that a feather falls at a slower rate than a bowling ball.
