They don't get towed - they get trailered. If the machine is disabled completely, a winch truck might be used (if the company has one - those are more common to oilfields than paving companies). Worst comes to worst, a heavy wrecker gets called in to lift it onto a trailer. You really can't tow those - for one, the band tracks most often used on pavers aren't rated for highway speeds, and also they use a hydrostatic transmission, which is all hydraulic... you can't break torque from a clutch or torque converter the way you can with an automotive transmission.
