Suspense. This is when the audience is left uncertain about what will happen next, creating anticipation and tension in the story.
Situational irony occurs when there is a contrast between what is expected to happen and what actually happens. Dramatic irony is when the audience knows something that the characters do not. Characterization is the method used by the author to develop the personality of a character. Verbal irony is when a person says one thing but means another.
Stylistic drama is over the top drama, its were something might happen but they make it over dramatic and very staged.
Ive seen this happen when dramatic changes in temperature happen e.g. its hot outside and you get cold water the window..
It is called dramatic irony. Dang you beat me to it. And situational irony is when something unexpected or opposite of what you thought was going to happen happens.
the Mayans believed in something happening on that date, not necessary the end, but something perhaps different, i believe something may happen, but i dont think it will be as dramatic as the movie. :D

Because when it is quiet, and we are scared, our own breathing is very loud to us. We don't normally pay attention to the sound of our own breathing, so the sound triggers our feeling of something bad or scary or dramatic about to happen.
Anti-Dramatic Irony is the opposite (anti-) of dramatic irony (when the character in the play or literature knows something that the audience does not. An example would be Sherlock Holmes. He sometimes knows the culprit and how he/she did it but does not tell Watson until the end.
