When the tanks are full of water they force O2 out of the tanks. Once the tanks empty out the water they will fill with gasses that in the water such as O2 or Co2. These gasses are palpably less dense than water so the submarine rises. I hope that helps.

When a submarine pumps water out of its floatation tank its density decreases and it floats. Why does its density decrease?

To rise again, the submarine's weight must be decreased. Air is pumped into the ballast tanks to force the water out. The buoyant force acting on the submarine now exceeds the submarine's weight. With positive buoyancy, the submarine rises. The less weight an object has the more its density decreases. Hope that kinda helps?

If mass increases and volume stays the same then density decreases?

Density is mass / volume. Therefore, when mass decreases, density will also decrease.Density is mass / volume. Therefore, when mass decreases, density will also decrease.Density is mass / volume. Therefore, when mass decreases, density will also decrease.Density is mass / volume. Therefore, when mass decreases, density will also decrease.

What is happening to the substances mass and volume to cause this decrease in density?

A decrease in density would indicate a reduction in mass relative to the volume. If the mass decreases but the volume remains the same or increases, then the density would decrease.

As a parcel of air increases in altitude its pressure will?

No, the density lowers. When air expands, the volume of area it takes up increases while the density decreases. The molecules move apart.

What will probably decrease populations density?

Population density decreases as people move away from each other. For example, when the suburbs began to be created, population density decreased in cities.

When a submarine pumps water out of its floatation tank its density decreases and it floats why?

because of density

When a submarine pumps water out of its floatation tanks its density decreases and it floats. why does its density decrease?

Because the tanks are filled with air afterwards. Air has a lower density than water.

When a submarine pumps water out of its floatation tanks its density decreases and it floats?

Yes, when a submarine boat pumps water out of its flotation (not floatation) tanks, the submarine should rise.

When a submarine pumps water out of its floatation tanks its density decreases and it floats. why its density decreases?

The water is replaced with air which is not as heavy as water for the same volume.

Density = mass / volume. If the mass decreases, the density decreases.
