Warm air rises and then comes down as cool air, and the opposite is also true.

∙ 12y agoThe atmosphere is actually warmer near the surface because the sun's rays are warming the physical earth, not the air directly. The atmosphere is then heated through convection from the warmed earth. As the warmer air rises, it expands and cools off.
Hot air rises. As the air in the hot air balloon is made hotter than the surrounding air it rises.
hot air rises.
Hot air balloons use hot air because hot air rises above cold air. The air inside the balloon is heated above the temperature of the air outside the balloon. The warmer air trapped inside the balloon then causes the balloon to float above the outside colder air.
A cold front occurs when a mass of relatively cool or cold air plows into a mass of warmer air. The warmer hair gets force upwards because it is less dense. As it rises it expands and cools and the moisture in it condenses, producing rain and thunderstorms.Sometimes these storms are strong enough to produce hail and tornadoes
it rises
Vaporized water rises because it is 100 degrees Celsius or warmer and is therefore warmer than the surrounding air and warmer air always rises above colder air.

Warmer air rises and as it cools will descend.
Conduction
When warmer air rises so when a localized surface is warmer than its surroundings, the air above that surface is warmer and will also rise. This also makes clouds.
