There have been updates in the form of minor bug fixes but no other updates will come out if you really want to enjoy the updates you have to get it on the PC either in the orange box or by itself. I bought my PC copy for ten dollars. once you download it it also gives you steam

Not split-screen, but if the second player has a separate computer and Team Fortress 2 and you find/host a server, then yes. Unfortunately, if two people have a different type of console, whether it's PC and Mac, PS3 and Xbox, etc..., you cannot play on the same server. :(
