In the pre-Vatican II Church all adornments were removed from the church and statues covered on Passion Sunday and remained covered until the Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday. Today, few Churches practice this but those that do cover the statues on Palm Sunday which is now combined with Passion Sunday.
