When at home your laptop can pick up wireless networks but when you go to your Girlfriends house you cant detect her wireless network how do you fix this?

If your laptop is old and her wi-fi is new, her router might be operating on the newer wi-fi standard. 802.11b and 802.11g are the older standards, 802.11n is the newer. If this is what's happening you might be able to buy a 802.11n compatible USB wi-fi dongle to us when you are round her's.
