No. Never change the subscripts because then you are changing the formula of the substance to something else. You can only change the amount of a substance by adding a coefficient in front of the formula. If there is no coefficient, it is understood to be 1.

When balancing a chemical equation what is allowed to adjust?

Coefficients of molecules are adjusted.

To balance a chemical equation you must adjust the?

Tsubscripts of the reactants equal the subscripts of the products.

When balancing a chemical equation do you alter the coefficients but not the subscripts in the equation?

Subscripts state how many atoms and Coefficients state how many molecules there are. So when balancing an equation you always adjust the coefficients. When this equation is balanced, what is the coefficient for Ni(NOËÄ)ËÄ? 4

What are the two primary considerations balancing in equations?

1).You may only put numbers in front of molecules, never altering the formula itself.2).Balance complicated molecules with lots of different atoms first. Putting numbers in front of these may mess up other molecules, so use the simpler molecules to adjust these major changes.and another tip that's useful is if you regconise the atoms making up a standard group such as sulphate, nitrate, phosphate, ammonium etc. that survive unscathed throughout the chemical reaction, treat them as an indivisible item to be balanced as a whole.

How do you maintain bodily equilibrium?

The ability to maintain bodily equilibrium is called balance or balancing.

Balancing standardization and adaptation for product performance in international markets?

yes it should be balanced to adjust the environment

Why cant the subscripts of a chemical equation be changed?

subscripts define the ratio of atoms to atoms, or ions to ions in a compound. they are set by the valence electrons, they only fit in certain ways. why change them other than to make balancing equations easier. balancing equations is not supposed to be too easy, just work harder at it. don't adjust the universe to fit into a simple way to look at things. NERD!
