i recently had a tonsillectomy and threw in a pinch the very same day. since there is really no contact with your throat it should be ok. the only issue would be is that since your constantly spitting your mouth throat is drying out and could crack and bleed. so if you do decide to throw a pinch in make sure you are sipping on some kind of liquid as well and dont swallow any of the dip obviously because it can irritate your throat.
