Well, females become mature at 4 weeks old, BUT THIS IS NOT A SAFE TIME TO BREED! You should probably breed it at, at least 4 to 5 months. If you breed it at 8 to 10 months than it can kill mother and babies, because the pelvic bones begin to fuse
If your guinea pig is male, it doesn't matter what age you start breeding it, but if you have a female guinea pig who hasn't previously been bred and it is 1 and a half years old it is safest not to as the pelvic bones will have fused and can cause the death of your guinea pig or it's babies or both during the birth.
No, you should wait until they are at least 4/5 months, but don't wait until they are over 8 months because then their tails set and it can be dangerous for the babies and the mothers. 2 months is much too young, wait a few months is my advice.
Guinea pigs are able to breed at 3 to 4 weeks old. But it is better to wait a bit longer to let them breed. You should also breed them befor they are 6 months old.
No, they cannot and would not.
guinea pigs get pregnant at 2 months
A healthy guinea pig should have no problem going through labor. If your guinea pig dies during labor, it could be due to pregnancy toxemia or the guinea pig's hips could have fused (this can happen if you wait to breed your guinea pig until it is over a year old. If you want to breed your guinea pig, you should always make sure that they have their first litter before they turn one year. If you wait much longer, the hip bones will not be able widen to allow for birth.)
Male guinea-pigs can start mating when they are as young as 3 weeks old, although it is recommended that you make sure they been bred by six months old to make them a breeder.Female guinea pigs can start having babies when they are three months old, however, it is highly recommended that you don't mate them when they are over a year old, due to pelvis bone fusion. A female guinea pig any older than a year old will have a dead litter before she will be able to produce a live litter.
Usually two or three in the first litter - more - up to four or five in the second. You shouldn't breed from your guinea pig once it is over a year old. A guinea pig is a good one
A guinea pig would likely live longer.
The best age to breed your guinea-pigs is 5 months to a year old.
at least half an year
Yes, I would say that eight weeks is a bit too young to start breeding your guinea pig. I would suggest waiting until your guinea pig is about four months old to start the breeding process. Otherwise, if you start breeding your guinea pig too early, there are multiple complications that could arrise that might affect the health of the mother of fetus(s).
Well, If they are growing length wise they are 0-8 months old. If they are growing in width(fatter) They are a year or older. If you are wanting to breed, don't breed it its older than a year...Well the males can be, but not the Females.(:
one year...
I just turned 12 and I think the best guinea pig to get is an American short haired. they are very friendly and easy to find. Hope this was helpful :]
About 2 and a half years old. (on average)
yes. I had a 2 year old guinea pig and a 6 month old and the were great together.

where do you live? because we have one ..hes 2 yrs old.
yes this should be ok....never breed a gp over one year that hasn't birthed before as the hip joints fuse.
1 year old
