Generally, 4 1/2 weeks... Deffinately seperate the male babies as soon as this time is up or they will mate with their siblings. And never keep the father, or any outside male rat, in the same cage. He'll mate with the mother again and could kill the pups.
Actually Your Half Right - I would say that the baby's can stay together for aprox 6 weeks, but just keep an eye on them, once they start humping each other, that's the time to separate them from each other.. & as far as the father (male) goes, He will not eat/kill the pups, neither will the mother, even if the male stays with them. The only reason the pups could be eaten is if they are born dead/sick/weak/etc. It is ok & good for the mother to consume these & helps regain more protein.Baby rats will start to eat food as soon as their eyes open & they have teeth as soon as they are born so when their eyes open even hard food isn't a problem, altho its easiest & best for them to start with a softened food if not with the mother any more, If they are with their mother still, they will drink milk still & go back n forth to her food... But to answer the question, As soon as the baby rats are eating food on their own & are walking/running around (hoppers)in my experience they start to eat and drink on their own at 3 weeks but it is ideal to wait until they are 6 weeks old. at that time the mother will wean them on her own. but be sure that at 6 weeks old you separate boys from girls or the girls will get pregnant.
Do you mean baby mice? Baby female/male mice can start mating at about 6 weeks, and you are safe to separate them from there mother at 4 weeks, so the ideal time to separate them is about 5 weeks.
If you mean 'when should you separate adult mice female/male'
You should always have them separate unless you want them to mate.
You can separate them when they're 5 weeks old. Unless they're going to new homes, you can separate the males from the females and keep the girls with the mother.
5 weeks if its a boy, if its a girl she can stay with her mom forever., unless you mean to give the baby mouse away.
You should wait to hold a baby mouse until it is two weeks old.
Ready to leave for new homes: 1 month of age. hope it helps :)
Mice "pups" are weaned at 3 weeks of age. Average breeding age is about 3 weeks later at 6 weeks of age.
4 weeks
Baby penguins leave protection of their mothers at rather young ages. In early life they are often kept close to their mothers tummies for maximum warmth.
Syrian hamsters continue to feed on their mothers until the 28th day from birth. Baby Syrian hamsters must leave their mothers as soon as it reaches 4 weeks old.
Alot of animals always leave there mothers around 1 to 2 years and begin there life on there own.
yes, they dont have to drink mouse formula or rabit formula
mice' eyes open at aprox. two weeks. they need to be able to nurse for at least a month before separated from their mothers.
Baby mice are introduced to food by their mothers so you should not need to interfere in anyway unless the baby mouse doesn't have a mother. I think baby mice start to eat solid food at around 2-3weeks.
you deside baby , the cervix the placenta or the uterus
Male mice will not care for the baby mice but they will eat the babies.
Usually not. Maternity leave is technically medical leave. New mothers are out on leave for 6-8 weeks to heal, per the OB's orders. You would be entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid FLMA leave. Check with your employeer, sometimes they have special programs that allow parents who adopt to take off a few paid weeks. CONGRATS on your baby!
Leave it outside. These mice are unclean, carry disease, and contaminate/sicken your other mice. If you are really curious, snap some pictures and show mice owners online.
The bobcat cubs leave their mothers at least 5 months old maybe less
