well the best time to hold baby mice is when they are fully fured not when their skin is exposed and they look pink then the mother will smell you on the baby mouse and kill it and sometimes they will even eat its remains.
Pet mice can be lovely pets.
After a week i would put your hand in their and let them smell you.
After 10 days i would pick them up and then put them back almost immediately in their cage.
Over the period of time everyday I would hold them and increase the time you took them out.
Eventually they will be used to being held.

You can touch baby mice when they are a few weeks old. It's not a good idea to touch them before the mother gets acquainted because she may eat them.
