Halley's Comet
What does Halley's Comet mean for the future? Nothing special; the comet will return to the inner solar system in 2061, and ought to be a pretty special view. But in the grand scheme of things, it has no special significance.
That's a nonperiodic comet, meaning it won't come back any time soon. It is hard to determine the exact period of such comets.
Halley's Comet is a well-known comet that orbits the Sun approximately every 76 years. It last appeared in 1986 and will next be visible from Earth in 2061.
As a comet comes nearer to the Sun, its temperature begins to rise. This can cause frozen gases to be released along with ice, dust, and rock. The solar wind blows these into a fan shape behind the comet. The light reflected from these particles gives the comet its "tail", providing a spectacular view when they come close enough to Earth. (*Unless a comet is moving directly away from the Sun, the tail may be formed laterally, rather than along the direct path that the comet has taken.
Hopefully some serious advances in medicine come about, as we will need them to view this comet again. It is estimated that this comet will not return for another 29,500 years.
