Maybe a wheel bearing -does the sound change when turning in one direction or the other? Could be a belt driven accessory that has a bearing going bad. i.e. alternator, water pump, belt tensioner etc.
Hey Raequell==One thing that can cause it is a loose air cleaner or ducting in the air intake system. GoodluckJoe
when you turn your key and you only hear humming noise, the problem will most likely be that the starter is not engaging the fly wheel, its turning but is not sliding forward to do its job. have the starter check.
noise pollution
Been working on cars for about 18 years. From your symptoms, sounds like you spun a bearing. Need to know more or actually see the vehicle. So many problems arise from over heating an engine, from bearings to valves.
No, but a bad wheel bearing could.
It sounds like a CV axle shaft has come loose from the transaxle. This is usually caused by an improperly installed axle shaft of missing or damaged snap-ring type retainer.
Have you checked your Exhaust Muffler and pipes ? Probably the fuel pump
If a car has a loud humming noise when accelerating, it could be that the air filter is missing. The air filter housing might also be loose. A loud humming noise can also be a signal that there is something wrong with the alternator belt or the fan belt.
Answer Humming noise from front endI just got my car fixed with the same problem and it was the wheel bearing and it is gone. Was it a fwd car?
Yes it does if the car is moving. Because the CV joint is part of the axil if the car is moving the bad CV joint will be moving too. or No it will not make noise if the car is in neutral and the car is not moving.

The humming is a series of explosions in the engine happenning very quickly. Could also be an electric fuel pump if the vehicle is equipped with one.
a humming noise is usually related to the fuel pump about to go. or u just have a really loud fuel pump and everything is fine.
Have you checked your transmission fluid? Try that Cindy
could be your wheel bearings
It's the power steering pump. Check the fluid level. You might have to replace the pump.
Not much info to go on but, it could be a wheel bearing going bad.
Bad wheel bearing.
