Windows is usually configured by default to clean your desktop of unused and rarely used icons every 60 days. You can change this setting by Right-Clicking your desktop, then click properties, select Desktop tab, then select the button Customise Desktop. Here you need to untick the box that says Run Desktop Cleanup every 60 days.

The button that enlarges a window to fill the entire desktop is typically the maximize button, which is represented by a square icon in the upper right corner of the window on most operating systems. Clicking this button expands the window to cover the entire screen, allowing for a larger view of the content within that window. In some systems, you can also double-click the title bar to achieve the same effect.
To examine your existing folder and file structure on a desktop, you typically click on the "File Explorer" or "Windows Explorer" icon, which resembles a folder, on the taskbar or in the Start menu.
