Tata Docomo is the first one to launch 3G in India. But sadly they don't have license for Mumbai. But reliance Mobile has. Also Reliance Mobile is gonna offer a speed of upto 28mbps which the highest in the country.
The first 3G phone network in the world was NTT DoCoMo, which was launched in Japan.
Vodafone India first launched its 3G line in the first quarter of the year 2011. The company plans to spend about $500 million on all of its 3G networks.
Yes 3G is available in India but in certain circles. Where are you from?
It sure will!
no tata docomo will not launch 3g connection till 3rd December
You'll just have to get it unlocked and choose from the network carriers. I'll suggest you go for Reliance Mobile. A sneak into Reliance 3G's Employee Launch revealed that it offers a speed of upto 5.7mbps on an iPad.
The first pre-commercial 3G network was best launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan branded FOMA, in May 2001 on a pre-release of W-CDMA technology. The first commercial launch of 3G was also by NTT DoCoMo in Japan on 1 October 2001, although it was initially somewhat limited in scope; broader availability was delayed by apparent concerns over reliability.[10] The second network to go commercially live was by SK Telecom in South Korea on the 1xEV-DO technology in January 2002. By May 2002 the second South Korean 3G network was by KT on EV-DO and thus the Koreans were the first to see competition among 3G operators. In 2008, India entered the 3G arena with the launch of 3G enabled Mobile and Data services by Government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL). Later, MTNL launched 3G in Delhi and Mumbai. Nationwide auction of 3G wireless spectrum was announced in April 2010. And recently Reliance Communications launched their 3G services on December 13,2010
