He was born with the name Amenhotep IV and he changed it, then he changed his wife's name from Nefertiti to Neferneferuaten (fair is the beauty of the aten). When king Tutankamun took the throne he change the religion back to what it was before, and move the capital back to karnak.

He also died without an heir, and the throne was claimed by an army official named Horemheb, who married Nefertiti's sister Mutdnodjme.
