ANZAC Day is an annual event: it is commemorated on 25 April every year.
The event that sparked the annual commemoration started just before dawn on 25 April 1915 with the arrival of the original ANZAC troops at Gallipoli. The Gallipoli campaign lasted approximately eight months, and ended with the sect withdrawal of the troops under the cover of darkness.
