The Battle of Cotton Plant, also referred to as the Battle of Cache River and Battle of Hill's Plantation, was fought just out of a small town in Woodruff County of Cotton Plant, Arkansas on July 7, 1862. It was started at Hill's Plantation. In it a superior Confederate force was routed after being divided by its commander. However, the Confederate Force turned the union force from Little Rock after delaying their rendezvous with supply boats further downriver. Desperate for supplies, the Union force turned east and occupied the undefended port of Helena on the Mississippi.

Cotton fibers come from the seedpods of the cotton plant, which contain the fluffy white fibers that are harvested and spun into yarn or thread for making textiles. The fibers are composed mostly of cellulose and are known for their softness, breathability, and absorbent qualities.
