If you are talking about Crosby's concussion he was actually injured twice. 1st time- during the winter classic David steckel did a blind side hit on Crosby 2nd time- the penguins were playing against Tampa bay lightning, and Victor Hedman drove Crosby head first into the glass Crosby has been out for 18 games and probably still counting. We don't want him back until he is 100% better cause you can't play to your fullest with a concussion. Evgeni Malkin (penguin teammate) is out for the rest of the year with a knee injury

As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, Sidney Crosby has made significant progress in his recovery from concussion-related issues. He has been actively participating in practices and games, demonstrating improved performance and resilience. Crosby's continued focus on rehabilitation and following medical advice has been crucial in his return to form, allowing him to contribute effectively to his team's success. However, ongoing monitoring of his health remains essential to ensure long-term safety.
In 2011, he received a hard blow to his head during a game and had to miss the rest of the season.
