The Erie Canal
The Erie Canal was not cemented.
No the Erie Canal did not join the Ohio River. But New York was not the only state that built canals. The state of Ohio also built canals. The Miami and Erie Canal went to the Ohio River. The Erie and Ohio Canal also reached the Ohio River. Neither of these canals were as successful as the Erie Canal.

the Erie Canal
The original length of the Erie Canal was 363 feet.
The Erie Canal is in the state of New York.
The Erie Canal connects Albany, The Hudson River, Lake Erie, Buffalo, and everything in between.
The Erie canal allowed goods to be transported from New York harbor to the Hudson river into the canal and the great lake to what was the West United states. Also, crops from the west was able to be sent from the west to New York harbor. This allowed more goods to be exported and imported. Lastly, a lot of cities blosomed around the canal which meant more manurfacturing.
