Felix Bernard composed the music for "Winter Wonderland" to Dick Smith's lyrics. The song was introduced during the Christmas season of 1934. It is really a song about the time of year, since there is no direct reference to the holiday anywhere in the lyric. Sadly, both songwriters' lives were short. Dick Smith was already suffering from tuberculosis at the time that he wrote the lyrics, and he died the following September. His years were 1901-1935. Felix Bernard's years were 1897-1944.
