Though it isn't very certain as to what he discovered, it is said that Hippocrates was the first person to believe that diseases were caused naturally and NOT by the gods or superstition. Daniel D. Palmer is the name that you are looking for. However, he did not discover chiropractic, he only gave it a name and turned it into a separate healthcare profession. In fact, spinal manipulation (what chiropractors do the most) has been performed by "healers" for thousands of years. Even Hippocrates used spinal manipulation, and is quoted as saying "Look to the spine for the cause of disease".
