IBM came first
DOS, which stands for Disk Operating System.
OS/2 is a computer operating system, initially created by Microsoft and IBM, then later developed by IBM exclusively. The name stands for "Operating System/2," because it was introduced as part of the same generation change release as IBM's "Personal System/2 (PS/2)" line of second-generation personal computers.
IBM
the invention of transistor in 1947 provided a substitute for vacuum tubes in the second generation of computers. computers of this period all used magnetic-core storage systems for memory. -IBM 410 -Honeywell 800
The first ever DOS released by IBM was DOS/360 for their IBM System/360 series computers. It was announced in 1964 and first released in June 1966.DOS/360 has no relation to MSDOS or PCDOS for Intel 80x86based computers in the 1980s.
2ng generation. It used transistors and magnetic core memory
any PC built in the united states today is built under licensing specs first developed by IBM. IBM mass produced pcs before anybodyTotal utter nonsense! Many companies produced personal computers long before IBM did. IBM sold their entire line of PCs to the Chinese company Lenova and now wants nothing to do with personal computers.
The IBM Selectric typewriter was first introduced in July 1961. It was one of the most successful typewriters of that generation. The line was replaced in 1984 with the IBM Wheelwriter.
IBM contributed the electronic type writer into the growth of computers
IBM mostly makes computers for business purpose and for developers.
Some examples of third generation computers are the IBM System/360, IBM 1130, UNIVAC 1107, Apollo Flight Computer, Minuteman II Guidance Computer, UNIVAC 1108, UNIVAC 1110, DEC PDP-11, DEC VAX-11/780, ILLIAC IV, IBM System/370, Kenbak-1, Cray-1, etc.
