they had joined with Italy because Italy said that they would help them.....
Germany, Japan and Italy all quit the League of Nations, though not the only ones. Germany quit because it would have limited Hitler's plans for expansion and rearmament. Japan quit because it was criticised for its invasion of Manchuria. Italy quit because it was criticised for its invasion of Abyssinia.
False, they were the Axis.True. The term "ally" or "allies" (without cap's) refers to a group of countries who join together to support and defend each other. Therefore, they were allies. The name of this alliance of Germany, Italy and Japan was called the Axis, which, I think, was first used by Benito Mussolini.
Italy was initially an Axis Power (as early as 1938) before toppling its government and switching to join the Allied Powers in 1943.Well Italy was Germany's main Allie along with Japan and Austria.
It more like what countries did the US join during WWII. When the US officially entered the war in 1941, we joined the Allied powers, which were UK, France, India, China, USSR and a number of smaller countries.
June 10, 1940 Mussolini had vascillated between admiration for Hitler and protesting against his decisions. Mussolini had an important position in the Munich Conference and was claimed to be a man of peace. Then Mussolini was envious of Hitler's show of power and wanted to reap part the spoils of war. When Hitler invaded Poland and then Norway and Denmark, he decided to show his strenght and join on Germany's side. Mussolini ordered his troops to join in on the invasion of France on 10 June 1940. However, due to the Army's slow responce, the Italian Army made very little advance across the Italian/French border. On September 27, 1940, The Tripartite Pact formed the alliance of Germany, Italy, and Japan and became known as the Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis, or Axis alliance.
The two together formed the "Pact of Steel" .
Germany joined Austria-Hungary and Italy to create the triple alliance.
Answer Italy on 8 September 1943 Italy overthrew dictator Benito Mussolini in July and tried to negotiate with the Allies to join them as an ally. The Allies would only agree to an unconditional surrender. The surrender was announced when it was learned troop ships were headed to Italy.
