Japan could originally have been considered as part of China but in 660 BC Emperor Jimmu first founded the the nation of Japan. The Meiji Restoration ( 1868 ) restored imperial rule to Japan in 1868 under Emperor Meiji. On the 3rd of May 1947 the current constitution was adopted as amendment to Meiji Constitution.

Q.E.D. Japan has always been a sovereign state so there cannot be an Independence Day for Japan.
