Matt 4:1-19
According to the Gospel of John, the one who told Jesus about the loaves of bread and fish was one of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter.
The disciple who told Peter about Jesus was Andrew, who was one of the first followers of Jesus. Andrew was initially a disciple of John the Baptist but then introduced his brother, Peter, to Jesus, saying, "We have found the Messiah" (John 1:41).
When Peter and the other disciples let down their nets as Jesus directed, they caught a huge number of fish, causing their nets to break. This event showed the disciples the power and authority of Jesus and led Peter to recognize Jesus as Lord, prompting him to leave everything and follow Jesus.
The coming of Jesus into Peter's life changed the focus of Peter's fishing from fish to men. 16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he [Jesus] saw Simon [Peter] and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. (Mark 1:16, 17)
Assuming your talking about the "fishers of men" story in Matthew 4:18-19 it says "As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men" So the answer to your question would be the Sea of Galilee.
Fish for the souls of people by sharing Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead
after Jesus had seen Peter and his brother at the fish
Mat 4:19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." This is not a parable, a parable is a story. This is a metaphor. Jesus is saying to Peter and Andrew to follow Him and He would teach them how to catch men/people. Here Jesus is alluding to taking the gospel to people. The net Peter and Andrew were to spread and cast was the Gospel, Mat 13:47 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, The sea into which they were to cast the net was first Judea, and then the whole world; the fish they were to catch were the souls of men, both among Jews and Gentiles.
In the King James version * The word fisherman is not mentioned * The word fishermen is mentioned 1 time- in Luke 5 : 2 * The phrase fishers of men is mentioned 2 times- in Matthew 4 : 19, and in Mark 1 : 17
It was Peter You are welcome...
Many people in Jesus' area and time period were fishermen, and undoubtedly many of Jesus' disciples were too, though the Bible doesn't say exactly.Atleast four of his apostles, Peter, Andrew(Matthew 4:18, 19), James and John (Matthew 4:21, 22) were fishermen by trade .
St. Andrew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He preached the teachings of Jesus, performed miracles, and ultimately was martyred for his faith. He is known for spreading Christianity in Greece and Asia Minor.
