We are told in Luke's gospel (Luke 2:49) that at the age of 12 Jesus already knew his destiny and his mission as he was discussing with the Temple elders on a visit to Jerusalem with his parents. When they rebuked him for going astray, he replied "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?" It would also be unthinkable that Mary had not brought up Jesus before this to realise that he was special. Mary knew of Jesus' divinity right from the birth, as she was informed as such not only by God but by those who visited the baby (such as the wise men from the east). It was not until later in life - at the age of 30 or so, after Jesus' time in the wilderness, that he realised that it was time to go public in his mission on earth - a mission that would last just 3 years and yet alter the course of history for ever.

∙ 15y agoWe are not told of the exact moment when He knew He was the some on God. But it is safe to say that he knew at a much earlier age than when he was found in the temple talking with the priests as a youth. If you remember He chided his parents for disturbing Him when He said "Do you not know that I am doing my Fathers business".

∙ 14y agoThe bible doesn't give an exact date, however, in Luke 2:41-49, when His parents found him in the temple at age twelve. Jesus said, to them " how is that you sought me?" "Didn't you know that I must be about my be about my father's business?" Here it clearly shows that , Jesus knew he was the Son of God.

How does Jesus the son of God help us know God the father?
Well, Jesus is God and God is Jesus. It's confusing, I know, but it's the truth. The Trinity: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are one. So if we know Jesus we technically know God the Father too. But if we accept Jesus into our hearts and let the blood he shed on the cross cover us when we die our spirits will go to heaven and we will know Him and see Him.
