Giovanni Cabboto, known as John Cabot, left Bristol England on his first voyage in 1496. He got as far as Iceland, but turned back to Bristol because of a dispute with his crew.
He left Bristol again on either May2 or May 20, 1497. He went first to Ireland and later landed in North America on June 24, 1497. The precise location where he landed is open to debate.
on May 2, 1497
lier it was 1498
John Cabot is credited with discovering Canada and claiming it in the name of King Henry VII of England. He was disappointed at his discovery, because he had hoped to find a route to the far east and return to England with treasures. However, King Henry was pleased and sent Cabot back on a return voyage. Unfortunately, on his second voyage, he and his entire crew vanished.
According to the DDS John Cabot Project website, the voyage faced violent storms, strong winds, and food and water shortages. John Cabot's first trip was a failure. He had to turn back on his first voyage because of "storms, food shortages, and problems with his crew". The Atlantic Ocean in the northern region is unforgiving, with heavy waves, violent storms, strong winds, and strong currents. John Cabot, his son, and the crews of his fleet of ships were lost at sea.
He went on 2 voyages but it's unknown if he went on a third. And for all you people who are doing a project on him (like me) just say he went on two cause the third one was actually not a voyage it was a trip to visit a place that he passed but wanted to go back to on his first voyage.
maybe he came back nobody nos
The risk's were getting lost [and he did] and getting killed [iceburges, rocks]. The rewards were 10p [that was about 100$ back then] and another voyage [that was also a risk because after he left the port he was never seen again]
No he didn't

New research is beginning to show that John Cabot's voyage of 1498 was not lost at sea as previously thought. Evidence has been found that shows that the expedition had made it back to England by 1500.So the death of Cabot shown in many books as 1499 will now have to be revised. As the cause and actual date of Cabots death is not yet fully known, no doubt further research will discover something about this enigma of an explorer.
