When Mary Poppins flys away after Bert and the Banks family sing 'Let's go fly a kite' he says: "Goodbye Mary Poppins. Don't stay away too long."
These are his his last words and the last words spoken in the film.
When the wind changed. In a city with such frequently changing airs as London, well this could mean anything. Oddly her superpowers included a sort of local weather modification, if the scene outside the church is relevant. It is relevant to the plot- instead of taking the kids inside the church to get out of the rain, ( Ark on the flood, so to speak) she conjures up with Magic some sort of fairyland live-animal merry go Round and the kids are entranced- but not spiriturally enlightened. This is typical of Disney attacks on religion.
In Disney's Mary Poppins (1964) the nanny says that she will leave when the wind changes, which means when the situation in the house is better for raising these children. And she does leave when the weathervane indicates a change in wind direction.
(When there is a change in the wind) or words to that effect. Given fog-and-rain prone London, that could be l5 minutes or so???
When the wind changes. This is a very vague statement.
