Michael Crichton's novel Congo describes the brutal and mysterious death of a field expedition team near the ruins of the Lost City of Zinj in the Congo, a vocabulary-learned and finger-painting African gorilla's drawing a diagram of this lost city of his native land while in the U.S. and the deathly adventures of a new expedition team sent from San Fransisco to enquire into the mystery.
The Andromeda Strain, Congo, Disclosure, Eaters of the Dead (the movie was called The 13th Warrior), The Great Train Robbery, Jurassic Park, its sequel, The Lost World, Rising Sun, Sphere, The Terminal Man, Timeline, and Twister. I believe a couple of these were screenplays he wrote, instead of novels. Wikipedia provides more details.
Michael Crichton. Good book. A little different than the movie (as all book-movie relationships are). Very dry and detailed, although that's the way most of Crichton's books were. Although they are good, you got to endure the first some 200 pages of information and no action. He also wrote the sequel The Lost World. It was pretty good too. About the same as the first book as far as dryness and details. However, personally, I think his best book, by far, is Timeline. Really well written, pretty easy to understand. If you like Jurassic Park, you'd probably like Timeline as well. Hope this helps!
