Spike TV re-branded as Paramount Network because the owner of the now-defunct Spike TV wanted the company to have a closer connection to Paramount Studios. Because of this, Spike TV was mad and posted like CRAZY on their social media accounts (mainly on Twitter) about how bad the situation was. Spike TV didn't go FULLY defunct, however. It was just re-branded to Paramount Network possibly because the name Spike TV was getting too old to be on television. 6 days before Spike re-branded, Paramount Network's official Facebook account went LIVE on Facebook Live and let people destroy the Spike logo until the final BOOM. It was one of their promotions for the Paramount Network before it would be fully re-branded from Spike TV. On January 18th, 2018, Spike TV was making one final broadcast. There was also a countdown timer until the Paramount Network premiere, which was a live Lip Sync Battle. From that point on, Spike TV has been fully re-branded, and will NOT be coming back anytime soon. But we will never forget the moments Spike TV shared with us; the fans. Goodbye Spike TV, you will be missed dearly. Sorry buddy, all good thing must come to an end. Good night, old friend. #GoodbyeSpike
