Because popcycle sticks are a sticky mess.
They can NOT eat human cookies however i'm sure you can find treat recipes online. One of my favorites: pour bird seeds on a plate and cover an end of a popcycle stick with honey then dip!
The word comes from "Icicle" and is spelled with an 'I', not a "Y". They were invented by accident by Frank Epperson a few years after the year 1900. He left some soda pop powder which he had mixed with water on his back porch. That night it froze, and the stirring stick was frozen right into the mixture. the next day, he pulled on the stick, and the frozen pop came out with it. He liked the taste, so started making and selling them as 'Epcicles', combining a part of his name with a part of the word, 'Icicle'. Later, to make them sound more yummy, he changed the name to Popcicle, a combination of soda POP and iCICLE.
A popsicle stick typically takes about several months to several years to decompose, depending on the environmental conditions. In a compost pile or industrial composting facility, it may break down faster. In the ocean or a landfill, where conditions are less favorable for decomposition, it may take much longer.
