Simon Kimbangu died in 1951.
Simon Kimbangu was born in 1887.
Kimbanguism is the new religious doctrine founded and developed by Africans. It carries this name after Simon Kimbangu who was the first and longest serving political prisoner of the Continent. In 1921 Kimbangu founded a revolutionary and messianic movement called Kintuadi in the DRC, then Belgian Congo. Kintuadi in turn gave birth to a number of religious groups all claiming Simon Kimbangu as their spiritual Father. The main group was formed by Kimbangu's son Diangienda Kuntima in 1959 and it boasted a membership of 17 million people by the year of his death 1992. Today Kimbanguism is universal with representation in America, Europe and Africa. It's led by Simon Kimbangu Kiangani, grandson of Kimbangu and custodian of Nkamba-New Jerusalem.
