Weedpatch camp was a camp for people that were in the Dust Bowl. They could hardly breathe so they came down to California to live in the Dust Bowl. The children were taught how to do things that would help them get jobs in life such as building and cooking and cleaning. They learned this in Vineland school. As a form of "punishment" Germans who lived in the surrounding cities and areas were forced to bare witnessed what their Feuer had done with the power the German people had bestowed to him. Almost every German was held accountable for the actions of Hitler. Guilty by association, so to speak.
