I. C. Blubber
People first started whaling around 3000 BC. It sure was a Long long time ago!
1500 B.C. Whaling has been going on for centuries. They are mostly killed for food, their blubber, and their insides which are used for most cosmetic products.
Modern whaling in South Georgia began in 1904, the South Shetland Islands in 1906, in the South Orkneys in 1912, and in the Ross Sea in 1923.
America is against whaling. They almost put whales out of the ocean for good when they did do whaling. They wanted their blubber for oil.
Whaling isn't good at all
Commercial Whaling has been banned since 1986 by the International Whaling commission. However, scientific whaling is allowed to strict quotas.
Whaling should'nt be allowed again, as it could cause a slowly growing population of great species, into an endangered species. Whaling still exists illegally in some countries, and whale parts are in several cosmetic's including lip-stick! Whaling is a vicious, dangerous so called "sport" or "hobby", but would you call being chased by murderer's a hobby? I dont think so.
Whaling stopped in Australia is 1979
Whaling happens in oceans, not on continents.
