Curaçao became a self-governing country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on October 10, 2010. This change occurred as part of a broader constitutional restructuring of the Netherlands Antilles, which was dissolved on the same day. As a result, Curaçao gained greater autonomy in its governance while remaining part of the Kingdom.
