Dr. David Livingstone named Victoria Falls after British Queen Victoria.
Dr. David Livingstone, of Blantyre, Scotland, was the first white man to discover " Mosi-oa-Tunya" - Shona or Bemba for the 'Waters that thunder' in 1855. He named them Victoria Falls in honour of his Queen.
The Scottish explorer Dr. David Livingstone discovered the area in the late 1850's during which time he was also the first white man to find Victoria Falls.

I don't know much but since i am learning about rainforest's in school i know that the most famous explorer is Dr David Livingstone for his most famous discovery the Victoria Falls. He called it the Victoria Falls because when he discovered it it was the Victorian era and Queen Victorian was the queen then so he called it the Victoria Falls in honour of his Queen!
Dr. David Livingstone and Dr. Henry Stanley met in Africa. Livingstone was a Scottish missionary and explorer, while Stanley was an American journalist sent to find Livingstone by the New York Herald in 1869. Their meeting in Africa in 1871 became famous with Stanley allegedly saying, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume."
