By 300 million years ago, all forms of fungi existed, but earlier records are a bit sketchy. Nevertheless, there are some undisputed fossils of fungi from around 400-440 million years ago. Also, many of the earliest plant fossils show the presence of mycorrhizae.
Although the origin of fungi is a mystery, most biologists assume that the fungi evolved from protists. Moreover, most assume that fungi probably existed as early as the terrestrial environment was first colonized by life: "From their inception, terrestrial communities have depended on (fungi)". Probably, fungi moved with plants from the aquatic habitat.
Fungi was first discovered by A man named Tino Vasquez in 1782. then his research was updated by a man named Ricky Mann in 1891.

Chitin is found in the kingdoms Animalia (animals) and Fungi. In the animal kingdom, it is found in arthropods (crustaceans, insects, etc.), mollusks, and fish (scales of certain species of fish, such as carp). It is also found in the cell walls of fungi.

Most fungi live by decomposing the remains of plants, animal, and microbes found in soil. That is why most fungi are called ?
