The medical experiments were gruesome and had little merit for the rest of the medical world. There motivations for the experiments were mostly about studying sub-humans according to their view. See the attached links.
There were multiple accounts of torture during the Holocaust. (Since you said Holocaust not WWII, I'll stick to the genocide of the Jewish people rather than the entire WWII) There was starvation, abnormal and useless medical experiments, the rolls calls that lasted forever, standing cells in which the person was sentenced to hard labor during the day and was forced to stand at night. It is also true that he wanted to inflict suffering and degradation on Jews and other minorities, like gypsies and other "abnormal" people.
