Nelson started from a young age. In 1931 when he was just 21 he was asked to leave his college because he was involved in a boycott concerning equal rights among the students.

To end the apartheid. He believed it was wrong, so he took stand. Unfortunately, as you most likely already know, he was imprisoned. But freed and eventually elected leader.
