Horses pull carts on the street.
They used wooden carts pulled by mules or horses, as well as by foot.
Walking. Riding horses or oxen. Riding carts pulled by horses or oxen. Sailing boats.
They used their feet & coaches(horses w/ carts) also they had to have a warrent to travel futher unless they'd be in trouble!!
I'm not sure if there is evidence, but the Romans had farmers, and carts that needed horses to operate, so they almost certainly had horses. Some people might have kept there horses on their farms for chariot racing in other towns as well.
Well, in Michigan there's a small island called Mackinaw Island, and cars aren't allowed, so people use horses and bikes to get around. The horses are usually pulling carts though.
