Cats did not evolve from sabertoothed tigers. Rather, sabertoothed cats evolved from other cats. Modern apes evolved from miocene apes, which were somewhat similar. Miocene apes evolved from some lemur-like primate, or perhaps something like a lorise. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loris

Jaguars are not extinct. But however the most extinct cats are the saber-tooth tigers,i believe.
Sabertoothed tiger
sabertoothed tigers.
Saber cats are extinct which means that they no longer exist
Some "cats" have gone extinct, such as the sabertooth. However, the cat as a whole has never been completely extinct.
Your question is not clear. Which animal are you wondering about cats making extinct?
They have litters so their species doesn't go extinct.
The cats mentioned here, Puma, Lynx and Bengal Tiger are NOT extinct. The Thylicine (Tasmanian Tiger) is not a cat but a marsupial and was declared extinct at one point, however there have been some sightings that have brought this into question in recent years.
Stop killing them. o.O
