This is not even remotely correct.

The samurai class existed from roughly 1192-1873. Although exact dates (or even years) are impossible to give due to the fact that it was a slow decline over several years, 1873 is the year that samurai became Shizoku (士族), losing some of their traditional rights (killing commoners for disrespect, etc).
