The Ross Sea and Ross Ice Shelf which was named after Sir James Clark Ross.
Sir James Clark Ross took the two ships to Antarctica, "Erebus" and "Terror" for which he named Mount Erebus and Mount Terror.

Sir James Clark Ross carried out approx. 30-35 years exploration. He was born on 15th April 1800 and died on the 3rd April 1862. He joined the navy when he was 12yrs old and immediately began his expeditionary career by joining his uncle John on his first Arctic voyage to discover the Northwest Passage in 1818. Between 1819 and 1827 he sailed under William Parry taking part in 4 arctic expeditions. Between 1829 and 1833 he again sailed with his uncle on his second arctic voyage and on this trip discovered the postion of North Magnetic Pole. It was also on this trip that he discovered the Beaufort Islands From 1835-39 he made magnetic surveys of Great Britain. Between 1839-43 he commanded the artic expodition that chartered most of the continental coastline In 1841 he discovered the Ross Sea Victoria Land. Sir James made his last expedition in 1848
According to Wikipedia: "Mount Erebus was discovered on January 27, 1841 (and observed to be in eruption) by polar explorer Sir James Clark Ross who named it and its companion, Mount Terror, after his ships, Erebus and Terror (which were later used by Sir John Franklin on his disastrous Arctic expedition). Erebus was a primordial Greek god of darkness, the son of Chaos."
